6th & 7th 2011 and rubbing shoulders with a number of key players within talent
management from Siemens to Suntech.
Renewable Energy HR is the first two day conference to focus on the critical issue
of recruitment and retention in the Renewable Energy Industry.
The growth of the renewables industry continues at a strong rate despite economic
challenges in some markets. One of the big challenges facing the industry is whether
it has the personnel, ranging all the way from offshore wind turbine maintenance
engineers to senior managers, required to support and maintain the industry’s rapid
growth curve.

AWR Update
Ahead of the introduction of the new
Agency Worker Regulations (
AWR)
that came into effect from the 1st October 2011 Summit had been working extensively
with the legal department of the REC so that it could prepare both its clients and
candidates ahead of the implementation. We have made sure the proper processes at
Summit are in place going forward to ensure appropriate checks will be made so that
if the role is in scope of the legislation the proper actions can be taken.
Following the introduction of this legislation, these processes will be an ongoing
part or our systems. We at Summit are more than happy to discuss the AWR with any
clients or candidates who have questions surrounding it and to see if it has any
impact on you. Our current customers both clients and contractors have been contacted
individually to discuss this with them.
So if you have any queries feel free to call. In the future a new page on our website
will be available with more detailed information in the future.

Summit is delighted to announce that it has been accepted as a full member of the
Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC). Summit has always striven to be
that little bit different from the raft of other agencies available to you, aiming
to offer a personable and quality service to clients and candidates alike (just
take a look at the

on our website). We already have ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditation but now, in
addition, membership of the REC means that we are:

assurances for employers and jobseekers alike. Members with REC Audited status have
been independently confirmed as fully compliant with industry regulations and best
practice.
- Serious about operating ethically - REC members pledge to comply with all relevant
legislation, have fair and honest terms of business, actively promote diversity
and equal opportunities and respect confidentiality.
- Serious about being well informed - REC membership means that recruitment agencies
are kept up to date with legislative changes and industry best practice to ensure
they can act in the best interests of clients and jobseekers.
- Serious about accountability - Should you feel that Summit does not uphold these
standards, you have recourse through the REC complaints and disciplinary procedures.
